PULBOROUGH, WEST SUSSEX

Pulborough is a village/small town in West Sussex, England. Pulborough it is located almost centrally within the County, and overlooking the floodplain of the River Arun, some five miles to the north of the South Downs. Should plans come to fruition, it should find itself located just to the northern boundary of the proposed South Downs National Park.

In earlier times, Pulborough was an important watering/overnighting halt for cattle drovers, standing as it does at the intersection of important north-south (A29) and east-west (A283) routes, and providing easy access to the waters of the (oft-times flooded) brooks (floodplain). It is now home to the RSPB Nature Reserve Pulborough Brooks, Pulborough Wildbrooks, where a wide variety of birdlife can be viewed from a number of professionally constructed hides and with a informative Visitors Centre.

Pulborough remains a most scenic and peaceful place to live.
